I Know Love
By Lisa Dudley & Pamela Watson

I asked my grandma what should I do?
My blue eyed boy, he’s gone back to
An old girlfriend he once knew
She broke us up and she thinks she’ll win
She hurt him before and she’ll hurt him again
And my poor heart feels like it’s breaking in two

My grandma said:
I know love when I see it
And I see it in his eyes
I know love when I feel it
And I feel it deep inside him
I know love when I hear it
And I hear it in his voice
Hang on child a little longer
You’ve already won that boy.”

Well I married that man and we had a baby girl
She came home from school, it was the end of the world
Her sweet Tommy quit on her today
He said they’d gotten way too close
She begged me to promise her there was still hope
I remembered the words my Grandma used to say

I told her:
I know love when I see it
And I see it in his eyes
I know love when I feel it
And I feel it deep inside him
I know love when I hear it
And I hear it in his voice
Hang on child a little longer
You’ve already won that boy.”

Bridge:
Now dry your eyes and stand up tall
He’ll realize he cares for you after all

‘Cause I know love…
