Trucker Angels
By Lisa Dudley

Before I left on my long, long journey
Mama got down on her knees and prayed
That God would bless her wild child
And keep me safe
I threw my Washburn guitar and a leather satchel
In the back with the tags from Tennessee
And I took off in an old Dodge Dakota
To face my destiny

Chorus:
And then I met up with a
Convoy of trucker angels
Watching over me
A caravan of trucker angels
Answering Mama’s sacred plea
They were honking their horns
And flashing their lights
Calling ahead on CB
It was a convoy of trucker angels
Watching over me

With every mile and every passing smile
I felt so taken care of
I knew God above with His endless love
Was well aware of
All my tears and all those fears
And insecurities
He sent a convoy of trucker angels
To watch over me

Chorus: It was a convoy of trucker angels…

Bridge: And to this day I still say
A prayer for truckers ev--ery--where

Chorus: It was a convoy of trucker angels…
